- Typical lows: $0.80–$1.20
- Typical averages: $1.10–$1.40
- Typical highs: $1.40–$2.50
- Extreme highs: $2.50–$4.00
Campaign objectives (Lead vs. Purchase)
Conversion campaigns can be optimized for either the standard Lead event or Purchase. Despite wide variation in expected conversion rates for the target action, the traffic cost (CPC) does not differ materially between these objectives. In practice, CPC is driven primarily by creative performance, not by the selected objective.
Custom and TikTok Smart+ campaigns
You can run fully customized campaigns — manually controlling all placement parameters — or rely on TikTok’s Smart+ (automated) campaigns. In the Smart+ case, you can generally expect meaningfully cheaper traffic (around $0.20–$0.80 CPC). However, when normalized to the cost of the desired action, Smart+ will often convert less efficiently, resulting in similar CPL/CPA to custom setups.
Audience size and targeting
