Braze October 2026 Updates: AI Decisioning, Content Optimization & Integrations

On October 15, 2026, Braze released an update to its Customer Engagement platform. The main changes involve AI-powered personalization of marketing communications, automated content testing, message frequency management, analytics, and Shopify integrations.

Some of these tools were first introduced at the Forge conference in September 2026. The October release moved several features from beta testing into general availability.

BrazeAI Decisioning Studio Go Personalizes Email for Each Recipient

On October 14, Braze made BrazeAI Decisioning Studio Go generally available, introducing AI personalization for recurring email campaigns.

Instead of selecting one winning email variant for the entire audience, an AI agent determines an individual combination of subject line, send time, and image based on each recipient's previous interactions.

The system continues testing and optimizing as more data becomes available. A randomized control group is provided to measure the incremental impact of personalization.

Unlike the more comprehensive Decisioning Studio Pro, Go is designed for marketers to configure independently, without help from a Data Science team.

Content Optimizer Tests Multiple Message Elements Automatically

On October 15, Content Optimizer became generally available.

It is a separate step in the visual Canvas editor that allows marketers to test numerous combinations of message elements simultaneously.

Content Optimizer supports email, push notifications, SMS, MMS, and RCS. Marketers define message components and their variants, while the system automatically analyzes results and reallocates impressions toward better-performing combinations.

Unlike traditional A/B testing of individual finished messages, Content Optimizer enables experimentation with multiple components at once.

Agentic Standards Reviews Campaigns Against Brand and Technical Rules

On October 15, Braze introduced Agentic Standards in beta, an AI-agent tool for checking advertising and marketing communications.

Administrators can create Campaign Standards and Canvas Standards to define formatting rules, technical requirements, brand constraints, and mandatory checks.

Before launch, the AI agent evaluates a campaign or Canvas against the defined rules. For example, it can check that required message elements are present, links are correct, and internal company requirements have been met.

BrazeAI Operator can help formulate and configure these rules in natural language.

Message Prioritization Resolves Competing Communications

On October 15, Braze added Message Prioritization, a mechanism for controlling sends when several campaigns are competing to reach the same user.

Previously, Frequency Capping limited the number of messages, but did not by itself determine which competing communication mattered most.

Marketers can now specify message categories and priority rules. Braze determines which message should be sent first and which should be deferred.

Lower-priority messages can be configured for another delivery attempt within a defined window.

For example, a notification about an order issue may receive a higher priority than another promotional email.

Industry Benchmarks Compare Engagement Against Peer Performance

On October 15, the new Industry Benchmarks report became available.

It lets marketers compare email, push notification, Content Card, and SMS performance with aggregated metrics from other companies.

Comparisons are available by industry, region, and more specific industry category.

This gives marketers another reference point for evaluating communications beyond their company's historical performance.

Messaging Observability Tracks Delivery and Journey Events

On October 15, Braze expanded Messaging Observability.

The tool now lets teams review the sequence of events within a campaign or Canvas, including user entry, sending restrictions, errors, and actual message sends.

For Canvas, user progression events are displayed separately from message delivery results.

The update makes it easier to identify why a user did not receive a message or did not reach an expected step in the customer journey.

Real-Time Content Cards Update During Active Sessions

On October 15, Braze made real-time Content Card delivery generally available.

Previously, the appearance of a new card could depend on the next content refresh or a new user session.

Now Braze can deliver updates directly to a device while the user is in an active session.

Supported updates include new cards, removal of existing cards, campaign availability changes, and Canvas events.

Compatible SDK versions are required: Swift 18.0.0+, Android 43.1.1+, or Web 6.12.0+.

On October 15, Web Targeting for Banners became available in early access.

After initial setup of automatic insertion through the Web SDK, marketers can select where a banner appears directly in the Braze Dashboard.

The placement is configured using a CSS selector and a method for inserting the element into the page.

This allows teams to change personalized banner placements without making a separate code change for every new location.

Shopify Historical Backfill Expands Order and Customer Data Imports

On October 15, Braze expanded the initial synchronization of historical Shopify data.

Previously, connecting a store imported orders for a fixed 90-day period and customer data for one year.

The integration now lets teams select the historical period during setup:

  • Orders: 90 days, one year, or two years.
  • Customers: one year, two years, or all available history.

This gives marketers more historical data for segmentation, personalization, and customer journey configuration immediately after connecting Shopify.

Email NPS Survey Adds a Ready-Made Rating Block

On October 15, a ready-made NPS Survey block was added to the visual email editor.

It embeds a rating scale from 0 to 10 in an email. Recipients select a score in the email interface and are taken to a Braze survey page.

The feature allows marketers to create NPS surveys without building an interactive template from scratch.

Intelligent IP Warming Ranks Recipients by Predicted Engagement

On October 15, Braze expanded its automated email IP warming capabilities.

The new Intelligent Ranking mode allows teams to upload a CSV file containing historical opens and clicks from a previous email service provider.

Braze matches these records with users and estimates recipients' likely engagement.

As sending volume gradually increases, the system selects users with the highest predicted probability of interacting with an email first.

SMS and RCS Reporting Filters Suspected Automated Clicks

On October 15, Braze added filtering for suspicious automated link clicks in SMS and RCS.

The system examines IP addresses and User-Agent data to identify known automated link-checking tools.

These interactions are marked as suspected bot clicks and excluded from reported click metrics.

This helps reduce CTR distortions caused by automated security systems checking links.

Team-Level Permissions Restrict Access to Catalogs

On October 15, Braze added the ability to assign Catalogs to individual teams.

Administrators can set permission levels for viewing, editing, exporting, and deleting catalogs at the Team level.

Employees can access only the catalogs permitted for their team, without needing access to every catalog in the workspace.
